Indiana bat Mist Net and Radiotelemetry Study
Fort Drum, NY
Copperhead conducted a mist net and radiotelemetry study during the summer of 2008 at the Fort Drum military reservation located in Jefferson and Lewis counties, New York. Designed to document the population density and habitat use of Indiana bats, Copperhead biologists spent 5 weeks netting 41 sites across the military installation. Netting and radiotelemetry efforts resulted in the capture of 380 bats of 7 species (including 2 endangered Indiana bats) and the location of 5 Indiana bat roost trees
