Mr. Leftwich joined Copperhead Consulting in March 2007 and brings to the team extensive experience in terrestrial ecology.He completed his Master of Science degree in Biology at Eastern Kentucky University in 2003 where he conducted his thesis research on the singing behavior of male Henslow's sparrows.Mr. Leftwich has conducted numerous surveys for a variety of bird species and has studied birds at locations spread across the United States.His bird experience includes visual identification, call identification, habitat surveys, banding, and radio telemetry.
Mr. Leftwich also extends Copperhead's capacity to conduct bat surveys.He has participated in bat surveys throughout the eastern United States and is well versed in all the techniques for the capture and study of these unique creatures.He is particularly experienced in bat surveys associated with mining and utility projects and has conducted extensive radio telemetry projects with federally listed Indiana bats.
A well rounded biologist, Mr. Leftwich has completed many surveys for variety of wildlife over a wide geographic area, including, plants, reptiles, amphibians and fish.In addition he has participated in the production of technical reports, including data entry, statistics, management recommendations, detailed results analysis, GIS spatial analysis and report writing.
