Gregg Shirk


Mr. Shirk is an experienced cartographer and GIS analyst.  At Copperhead Consulting, he provides project support for compilation of ecological data, aerial photo interpretation and digitizing, GIS data creation, manipulation and analysis, and map production.  In addition to his GIS skills, Mr. Shirk is an exceptional field biologist.  As a certified SCUBA diver, he offers special expertise in aquatic ecological work, including endangered and threatened fish and mussel habitat evaluations and presence/absence surveys. 
 Mr. Shirk has participated in survey techniques designed for conducting rare and endangered fish, mussel, and bat surveys, as well as reptile and amphibian surveys.  He has a substantial knowledge of fish and their respective habitats and principles of conserving wildlife species.  He has conducted mist netting surveys and radio telemetry research as part of an on going project looking at the ecological roost characteristics of bats.
